Town Board · Meeting of January 28, 2021

NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven Town Board approves $2.225 million bond for ADA-compliant sidewalk reconstruction on North Country Road, funded by a $1.78 million state grant and $445,000 town match. The Board awarded a contract to Property Registration Champions LLC (Prochamps) to operate the Town's mortgage-in-default registry, with the firm retaining $100 per collected fee and remitting the remainder to the Town for anticipated annual revenue of $500,000. The Board classified the 2021 Trap-Neuter-Return feral cat program as a Program for Public Good and waived dog park fees for the year.

Four properties were determined unsafe under Chapter 73, including 118 Beaver Drive, which suffered extensive fire damage in February 2020 and contains asbestos, and 9 Clark Street, where the owner was granted 60 days instead of 30 to submit repair permits. All votes passed unanimously.
