NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven's zoning board approves variances for 33 residential projects at large hearing. The Board of Zoning Appeals held hearings Wednesday for 43 applications and approved variances for dozens of residences, with most votes unanimous. Approvals granted relief for home additions, swimming pools, detached garages and other structures exceeding setback, height or lot-line requirements.
Eight applications were held for further review, and three were postponed. Conditions were placed on several approvals to ensure compliance with Chapter 81 wetlands regulations and resolution of building code violations.
