NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven Town Board designates four residential properties unsafe under town code Chapter 73 based on engineer reports, clearing the path for potential demolition; citizens Robert Dobies and Paulette DeVito and Lucille DeVito Braine voiced opposition at separate hearings. The board also authorized land acquisitions on Cypress Drive in Mastic Beach and Evergreen Avenue in Middle Island in partnership with the County of Suffolk, approved the installation of parking meters at additional town parking lots, adopted a Sanitation Code amendment addressing littering and dumping, and authorized the issuance of General Obligation Refunding Bonds. All votes were unanimous except for Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig's recusal on the Shirley property determination.
