Board of Zoning Appeals grants majority of variance applications

Board of Zoning Appeals · Meeting of April 15, 2026

NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven Board of Zoning Appeals approved most of 40-plus variance applications in a regular hearing. Chairman Howard Bergson's six-member panel voted unanimously on most matters, granting setback, yard, lot-division, and use variances for residential additions, garage conversions, deck modifications, and accessory apartments across multiple neighborhoods. The board unanimously denied a height variance request from Randall and Jessica Galli for an 18.2-foot detached garage in Holbrook.

Several applications were postponed to April 29 and May 13 for further consideration. Board Member Kevin Casey was absent.
