NY BROOKHAVEN — Board of Zoning Appeals approves 40-plus applications in single meeting. Deputy Chairman Rick Cunha led the four-member board, voting unanimously to grant property variances and special permits across Brookhaven. Notable approvals included a three-year helipad renewal for Elizabeth Holdings, LLC in Eastport and a four-lot subdivision in Mount Sinai approved with a 40-foot buffer and covenants.

John and Ellen Papakonstantis received variances for a residential addition and pool in Shirley, though their shed request was denied. Multiple residential-addition and pool variances were approved. Several subdivision applications, including those from Michael Chuisano, Ashley Builders, and Christopher Coyle, were postponed to later hearings.
