Town Board · Meeting of March 12, 2020

NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven adopts East Patchogue incentive overlay district zoning. The Town Board unanimously approved the overlay district, implementing recommendations from the town's 2010 Montauk Highway Corridor revitalization plan after a public hearing with eight residents, including Patchogue Mayor Paul Pontieri. The board also determined three vacant structures unsafe: a severely deteriorated wood-frame residence at 551 Post Avenue in Bellport, with estimated demolition costs of 25,000 to 35,000 dollars eligible for federal grant funding; a property at 42 Beech Avenue in Farmingville, found to contain litter; and a third property in Miller Place whose hearing was adjourned to May 14.

The board accepted Suffolk County grant awards totaling approximately 15,000 dollars for Medford Memorial Park improvements and a land donation in Mastic Beach for open space conservation.
