Brookhaven Board Approves Solar Facility and Land Acquisitions

NY BROOKHAVEN — The Brookhaven Town Board approved a solar photovoltaic facility at the Mastic Beach Pool through an agreement with i.on renewables LLC. The board also approved multiple property acquisitions for drainage improvements, including land on Grandview Drive in Shirley, Hot Water Street in Manorville, and Peconic Drive in Mastic Beach, drawing from the Joseph Macchia Environmental Preservation Capital Reserve Fund. The Planning Board approved applications for a two-lot land division at 5 Lincoln Avenue in Ronkonkoma with a SEQRA Negative Declaration and a restrictive covenant amendment at 9 Kara Court in Centereach, while adjourning a second land division application at 329 Hawkins Avenue to July 16.
All votes passed unanimously.
