Brookhaven Board approves zoning for dual commercial projects and authorizes $1.3M bonds

NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven approves $1.3M in bonds and twin commercial zoning changes. The Town Board unanimously authorized $1,060,000 in bonds for sidewalk reconstruction on Atlantic Avenue from Station Road to North Dunton Avenue and Montauk Highway, plus $240,000 for lighting and security camera installation in the same corridor. Town Supervisor Daniel Panico and the council approved zoning changes for East Moriches Holding LLC on Montauk Highway and Crest Coram 7-11 on Middle Country Road, both designed for commercial development.
The town also accepted New York State Department of Transportation grant awards for airport improvement projects and authorized land acquisition in Mount Sinai.
