Brookhaven Board Authorizes $12.975 Million Mastic Beach Infrastructure Bond

NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven Town Board advances Mastic Beach infrastructure with $12.975 million bond authorization. Supervisor Daniel J. Panico presided as all seven board members voted unanimously to approve the green stormwater management bond and to establish the Mastic Beach Sewer District based on an updated map, plan and report.
The board also voted to accept separate grant awards from New York State Empire State Development and the United States Environmental Protection Agency to support sewer infrastructure, authorizing 2026 capital budget amendments in connection with both awards. In related action, the board adopted amendments to town code chapters on all-terrain vehicles and zoning, awarded a concession franchise for the Medford Athletic Complex to Lah Dee Dah, LLC, and closed a public hearing on parcel condemnation for Mastic Beach drainage with a 30-day written comment period established.
