NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven zoning board denies cannabis retail permit in unanimous decision. The Board of Zoning Appeals rejected a special permit application from 1180 Montauk Highway LLC for retail cannabis sales on Montauk Highway, 100 feet east of Maure Avenue in Patchogue, voting unanimously to deny the permit and relief from special permit criteria that would have allowed the establishment within 500 feet of a residential zone. Board Member Steve Wilutis moved to deny; Kevin Casey seconded.
In the same session, the board approved 24 residential zoning variances for additions, structures, and lot configurations across Brookhaven.
