Brookhaven Board of Zoning Appeals approves property variances
Board of Zoning Appeals · Meeting of June 10, 2026
NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven Board of Zoning Appeals approves majority of property variance requests at June meeting. The six-member board, chaired by Howard Bergson, granted variances for residential additions, decks, lot divisions, and accessory structures in more than 20 applications. Approvals included a 500-square-foot pool house for Brandon DeFiore in East Moriches and permission for Frances Hanlon to retain existing structures in Middle Island subject to wetlands compliance requirements.
The board held seven applications for future June 24 or July 8 hearings and denied Ronald and Danielle Danler's request to harbor eight pigs and two goats, approving three pigs and a barn variance instead.
