Board of Zoning Appeals · Meeting of October 4, 2023

NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven zoning board approves 22 variances in routine October hearing. Chairman Howard Bergson and five board members (Ronald Lindsay absent) voted unanimously on most applications October 4, approving 22 regular agenda items covering residential additions, pools, fencing, and property line adjustments. Two applications from Pilar Ortiz and Elizabeth Beiter were postponed to October 18.

In a rare denial, the board unanimously rejected Corey Kilmnick's driveway variance, which would have permitted a 53-foot-wide driveway (versus 24 feet allowed) covering 64 percent of lot frontage (versus 35 percent permitted). The board also modified a prior decision for Ian Kearney, adding a $3,006.50 penalty fee.
