NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven zoning board approves 20 property-variance requests in May 13 session. Chairman Howard Bergson presided as the Board of Zoning Appeals processed 30 regular agenda items, granting 20 variance and parcel-division requests involving lot sizes, setback requirements, residence additions, and accessory structures such as sheds, pools, and fencing. The board unanimously approved permission for a Shirley property with fire-damaged dwelling to retain a pool house, outdoor kitchen, fireplace, and converted garage structure.
Six applications were postponed or adjourned for continued hearings in late May or June, while one parcel-division request by Salinas in Mastic was denied unanimously.
