NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven Board of Zoning Appeals approves 27 residential property variances. The board, chaired by Chairman Howard Bergson with Ronald Lindsay, Charles Lazarou, Erin A. Sidaras, Kevin Casey, and Christopher Brocato, granted most requests unanimously for additions, pools, and structures.

One request received partial approval: Christopher and Ashley Gironda's proposed 16-foot-high detached garage in Center Moriches was granted height variance but denied rear yard and side yard relief. The board also approved conversion of a detached garage to an art studio for Mikael Levin and Brigid Andrews, conditioned on no kitchen facilities, and extended two prior grants six months to expire September 8, 2024.
