Brookhaven zoning board approves 28 variances in March hearing

Board of Zoning Appeals · Meeting of March 11, 2026

NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven zoning board greenlights commercial and residential projects. The board unanimously approved 28 variance applications Wednesday, including relief for 1550 MCR Centereach Realty LLC's service station and convenience store at Middle Country Road and North Coleman Road, and Amerco Real Estate Company's U-Haul warehouse at Horseblock Road in Medford. The applications required variances for lot area, lot width, front yard setbacks, and signage restrictions.

The board denied two applications: East End Fire's portico roof variance and Edward Hololob's 23.5 foot storage building in Yaphank. Seven cases were postponed or held for a March 25 hearing; Island Preservation Project LLC's application was dismissed as a reinstatement attempt of a denial case from January 8, 2003.
