Brookhaven zoning board approves 30-plus residential variances
Board of Zoning Appeals · Meeting of September 3, 2025
NY BROOKHAVEN — The Brookhaven Board of Zoning Appeals approved more than 30 variance applications at its September 3 hearing, with most decisions unanimous. Board members Ronald Lindsay, Charles Lazarou, Erin A. Sidaras, Kevin Casey, Jeffrey Lanzet, and Chairman Howard Bergson granted variances for single-family additions, rear yard and side yard setbacks, swimming pools, decks, sheds, and fencing throughout the township.
The board postponed six applications to September 17, including Fire Island Pines requests and other complex setback cases, and held five applications on the decision calendar pending further review. The board also rescinded a July 23 grant issued in error to Clanci M. Canales Oseguera and reopened that case for rehearing on September 17.
