NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven zoning board approves 30 variances at its October public hearing session. The Board of Zoning Appeals granted 30 zoning variances and held multiple applications for future hearings at Wednesday's meeting, most approvals carrying conditions including covenants filed with the Suffolk County Clerk, dwelling-size specifications on 50-foot lots, and wetlands compliance for Fire Island properties. Rupon Nath's garage conversion variance was approved subject to a $640 penalty fee; the board denied Hector Velez's request for an existing driveway covering 55.14 percent of front yard area, exceeding the 35 percent limit.
