Town Board · Meeting of December 3, 2020

NY BROOKHAVEN — Town Board backs $28.1 million in infrastructure bonds and commercial redevelopment code. Supervisor Edward P. Romaine and the seven-member board unanimously approved bonds for road reconstruction ($15.25 million), landfill improvements ($3.1 million), lighting district upgrades ($2.45 million), open space acquisition ($1.2 million), marina improvements ($1.75 million), and other capital projects.

The board also enacted Introductory Local Law 15 of 2020, replacing the town's 10-year-old "Blight to Light" code with a new commercial redevelopment floating zone designed to revitalize abandoned shopping centers, bowling alleys and health clubs. A motor vehicle dealership was approved for Route 112 in Medford after the applicant agreed to buffers and delivery time restrictions.
