NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven Town Board unanimously approved a 7-Eleven convenience store with gas on Farber Drive in Bellport following a public hearing, granting a zone change from Light Industrial 1 to J Business 5 with motor vehicle fueling and convenience store permits. The Board also adopted two local laws: one consolidating affordable housing language in the zoning code, and another revising sections on appearance tickets and bidding preferences. A Centereach Storage application requesting a zone change to build a 161,214-square-foot mini-storage warehouse on 3.5 of 9.88 acres drew resident concerns about traffic on South Coleman Road and crime, though the applicant highlighted traffic reduction of up to 178 trips per evening peak hour versus prior approvals.
The Board awarded refuse collection contracts to Brownie Companies for both Davis Park and Fire Island Pines districts and approved a cloud migration planning contract with Tallan, Inc.
