Town Board · Meeting of May 25, 2023

NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven Town Board approves four property acquisitions and six unsafe determinations. Supervisor Edward P. Romaine presided over unanimous approval of property purchases in Mastic Beach, Shirley, and East Moriches for environmental and enforcement purposes, targeting properties owned by the Baur Estate, 24 Riviera Corp., Lakin and Pagliari, and Sophia Antonella 2009 LLC partners.

The board designated six properties unsafe under Chapter 73 code enforcement, including addresses in Selden, Farmingville, Mastic Beach, Patchogue, and Centereach. Councilman Michael Loguercio recused himself from Local Law 8, extending the five-year minimum service requirement for volunteer firefighters and ambulance workers; it passed 6-0. Local Law 7, establishing building construction site safety requirements, was adopted unanimously.
