Town Board · Meeting of November 6, 2025

NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven Town Board closes budget hearings. The board unanimously closed three public hearings on preliminary 2026 budgets Thursday following more than 30 public speakers divided primarily over a proposed Ecology Center closure. Closure opponents offered approximately $90,000 in donations: $20,000 each from Patrick Malkmes and Chris Nelson, and $50,000 from Chris Zecha in a corporate donation.

All three hearings closed unanimously with Councilman Neil J. Foley absent.
