Town Board Increases Stormwater Bond Authorization by $1.5 Million

NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven Town Board boosts stormwater infrastructure funding by $1.5 million. The board voted unanimously to increase authorized borrowing for storm water and drainage improvements from $11 million to $12.5 million to address flooding at multiple town locations, alongside a separate $911,000 bond authorization for Barton Avenue Bridge Culvert replacement. The board also advanced a major urban renewal initiative for Mastic Beach by adopting five related resolutions designating a neighborhood road redevelopment area, accepting an environmental impact statement, and approving zoning amendments to create a "Mastic Beach Downtown (MB) District," with public hearings set for August 28.
