NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven's Board of Zoning Appeals approved 25 regular-agenda applications for residential property variances at its Wednesday hearing, with an overwhelming majority voted unanimously. Chairman Howard Bergson presided with Deputy Chairman Rick Cunha, Kevin Casey, Ronald Lindsay, and Charles Lazarou present; Erin A. Sidaras and Christopher Brocato were absent.

Approved variances included basement conversions, garage additions, decks, and in-ground swimming pools across Brookhaven neighborhoods. Four applications were postponed to April 26, two were held on the decision calendar, and two prior grants were extended.
