Town Board denies Port Jefferson annexation petition

NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven Board denies Port Jefferson annexation, approves $2.5M vehicle fleet bond. Supervisor Daniel Panico, Councilmen Jonathan Kornreich, Michael Loguercio, and Neil Foley, and Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig voted 5-0 to deny the annexation petition, with Councilwoman Jane Bonner abstaining and Councilman Neil Manzella recusing himself. The board unanimously approved a bond resolution increasing vehicle replacement authorization to $3.2 million and approved Oak Walker Holding Corp.'s rezoning request for Montauk Highway in East Patchogue to J Business zoning.

Three properties were determined unsafe with public hearings set for June 12.
