Brookhaven advances Mastic Beach Sewer District to May 22 hearing

NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven advanced a proposed Mastic Beach Sewer District to a continued public hearing on May 22, voting unanimously to continue the project despite 3 property unsafe determinations in the same area. Residents Maura Spery and Frank Fugarino expressed support for the sewer district infrastructure. Town board members Jonathan Kornreich, Jane Bonner, Neil Manzella, Michael A.
Loguercio Jr., Neil J. Foley, and Karen Dunne Kesnig, with Supervisor Daniel J. Panico, declared 51 Grove Road, 148 Elder Drive, and 161 Huguenot Drive unsafe under Chapter 73 following engineer reports.
The board accepted a 25-acre land donation from Pineapple Hill Properties and Island Preservation Project with sanitary credits transferred, and adopted 4 code amendments affecting sanitation, signs, highways and zoning.
