Brookhaven approves Mastic Beach Sewer District establishment

NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven Town Board approves Mastic Beach Sewer District through four separate resolutions. The board voted unanimously to establish the district, approve a SEQRA determination, submit the application to the New York State Office of the Comptroller, and make related determinations (6-0 vote with Councilman Neil J. Foley absent).
The board also unanimously approved a $111,111 bond for the Mastic Beach Zoning Code Project and adopted the Vision Zero Action Plan following a presentation by Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro, aimed at reducing traffic fatalities through roadway design improvements. The board created the Ecke Avenue Community Land Trust Housing Overlay District to protect affordable housing and extended the recycling district boundaries to Strathmore Court in Coram.
