Brookhaven board approves three major commercial development projects

Town Board · Meeting of March 25, 2025

NY BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven board approves trio of major commercial and mixed-use projects. The Town Board unanimously approved three significant developments: Dunkin' Drive-Through in Centereach and McDonald's in East Patchogue each received zone changes to J Business 5 with special permits and site plan approval, while OHT Realty's mini-storage warehouse in Selden was rezoned from mixed-use to industrial. Councilman Neil Foley was absent for the Selden vote; the other six members approved it 6-0.

Ten residents opposed the Dunkin application; concerns were also raised about the McDonald's and warehouse projects. The board also unanimously approved a solar energy development project at the Holtsville Ecology Center and accepted a land donation for open space preservation.
